A new restaurant in historic Flowery Branch named Caroline’s on Main has brought a plethora of new flavors to the breakfast and brunch scene in Hall County.
The varied menu comes from Chef and co-owner, Nicholas St. Clair.
St. Clair, who already owns two popular south Hall eateries, Peyton’s Pie Company and Antebellum, knows the palette of the locals and has created a unique chef-driven menu for his latest endeavor.
The grand opening was held on Feb. 23 and served 325 customers for their first Sunday brunch just two days later. St. Clair described the success of their opening weekend as a testament to the growth of historic Flowery Branch.
“We couldn’t have done that ten years ago,” St. Clair said. “We had brunch at Antebellum back then and we’d see about 100 people every Sunday.”
Caroline’s on Main offers an artisanal mix of southern staples, cafe classics and creative new dishes that aim to please your taste buds as well as your wallet. The most expensive item on the menu is $18.
“You’ve got to have great food to keep people coming back,” St. Clair said. “I think we’ve done a great job at that so far.”
The name, Caroline’s, is a heartwarming homage to the previous business owner who held this location. Karen Ching, referred to as the “unofficial mayor” of Flowery Branch, owned and operated Liberty Candy Company. Ching, who passed away in 2019, was the godmother and namesake of St. Clair’s daughter, Caroline.
The soft pink theme and midcentury design make nearly every square foot of the quaint cafe ‘Instagram worthy’.
The group of co-owners at Caroline’s on Main, in addition to St. Clair and his wife, Alison St. Clair, represent a unique partnership between some of Hall County’s most popular businesses. Katie and Michael Gettys are owners at The Social Peach, a boutique that opened last year, which is located just across the street from their newest business venture. Roland Stanley is an owner of Cork It, Tap It, The Stag and is another co-owner of Peyton’s Pie Company. The ownership team is rounded out by Jerry, a former sous chef at Antebellum, making his debut in business ownership at Caroline’s on Main.
“We just want to serve great brunch food,” St. Clair said. “There’s a lack of chef-driven concepts around this area and we’re excited to bring that to Flowery Branch.”
