Region 8-4A, which still has five teams ranked in the top 10 in the latest coachesbox.org poll, will highlight a light day on the diamond on Wednesday.
But North Hall and Chestatee both have a chance to clinch key series on the road. The sixth-ranked Trojans (12-1, 1-0 Region 8-4A) travel to No. 7 East Forsyth (10-4, 0-1 Region 8-4A) looking to win their series while Chestatee (8-6, 1-0 Region 8-4A) heads to East Hall (2-11, 0-1 Region 8-4A).
In Region 8-5A, Jefferson and Flowery Branch are tied with Loganville atop the early standings on will play the first of two games in Jefferson. The Dragons (6-7, 2-0 Region 8-5A) have won three straight while the Falcons (5-6, 2-0 Region 8-5A) have won two straight.
In Region 8-6A, Jackson County (3-9, 0-1 Region 8-6A) will try to even its region record against Lanier (6-9, 2-2 Region 8-6A) in Hoschton. Gainesville (4-6, 1-2 Region 8-6A) opens a series with North Forsyth (7-6, 1-1 Region 8-6A) at Ivey-Watson.
