Braves sign OF Adam Duvall

ATLANTA — Adam Duvall returns to the Atlanta Braves on a one-year, $3 million contract.

The team made the announcement on Thursday.

Duvall, 35, played the 2023 season with Boston and batted .247/.303/.531 with 21 home runs and 58 RBI in 92 games, compiling 1.6 bWAR. He earned a pair of AL Player of the Week awards, first in the season's opening week and again in August.

Among players with at least 300 at-bats last season, his rate of 15.24 at-bats per home run ranked eighth in the American League.

The 6-foot-1, 233-pound native of Louisville, Ky., has batted .232/.291/.472 over a 10-year major league career, with 184 home runs and 536 RBI in 922 games. An All-Star with Cincinnati in 2016, Duvall has five career 20-homer seasons and led the majors with 113 RBI in 2021. Originally acquired by the Braves from the Reds in 2018, he batted .224/.285/.464 in 272 games over parts of five years with Atlanta and hit three postseason home runs during the club’s run to the World Series title in 2021.
