Four people are facing charges after authorities say methamphetamine was found inside a cell in the Gwinnett County Jail earlier this year.
A release from the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Monday said the investigation started on January 17 when a substance suspected to be meth was found during a routine cell search. Investigators later confirmed that six grams of meth had been packaged into 10 small parcels for distribution.
Two inmates, David Isaias Wilson and Salathiel McKinney, are both accused of orchestrating the delivery of the drugs into the jail using outside sources. Authorities also identified and arrested truck driver Willis Delonzo McFadden, age 48 of Winder, and Dante Gerard Thompson, age 38 of Lawrenceville, for allegedly delivering the drugs to the jail.
McFadden and Thompson are both being held in the jail without bond. Authorities said a total of 11 felony warrants were issued and served in the case.
