An early morning structure fire early Monday morning in White County is under State Fire Marshal's office investigation.

White County 911 Communications received a call from a homeowner reporting a smoke-filled home with an audible fire alarm.  The 911 disptach sent crews to the 400 block of Mossy Acres Drive in Cleveland just before 5:00 a.m to discover the residential structure fire at that address.

White County officials says all occupants were able to exit the home prior to first responders arriving on scene. White County Fire Service, Cleveland Fire Department, White County EMS, and White County Sheriff’s Office responded.

The fire was contained to one room of the home and had not spread. Fire personnel made entry to quickly knock down the existing flames.

Officials say it was also discovered that a dog and a cat were trapped within the structure, but fire personnel were able to locate and remove the animals from the home. The rescued dog was unconscious and not breathing when rescued by fire personnel. White
County EMS were able to provide lifesaving measures and resusitate the dog.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but under investigation with the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
