Rabun County authorities are renewing their calls to the public for help in the search for a man who hasn't been seen in six months.
Rabun County Sheriff Mark Gerrells issued a statement on social media Friday, asking the public for any information leading to the location of Vaughn Callenback, age 77. Callenback hasn't been seen since July 5, 2024.
"This is more than a search—it’s a family holding onto hope and a community uniting in action and prayer," Gerrells said in the post Friday. "If you have seen or heard anything—no matter how small—that could help, I urge you to come forward. Sometimes the smallest detail can make the biggest difference."
The sheriff's office had asked for the public's help in the search for Callenback in August of 2024, but they say he still has not been found. Photos posted by the sheriff's office indicate Callenback is a white man who was last seen with a long, white beard.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the sheriff's office by calling 706-782-3612.
