On Friday, five northeast Georgia area girls teams advanced to the Elite 8 round of the Georgia High School Association playoffs.
Now, it's the boys' turn to see who can join the Buford, North Forsuth, Cherokee Bluff, Banks County, and Rabun County girls. However, the Habershm Central girls in Class 5A will also be action as part of the doubleheader in Mount Airy with the boys in a dual showdown with Brunswick.

Five other boys teams besides the Raiders will also be playing at home. Buford will take on Etowah at The Buford Arena in Class 6A while East Hall (vs. Cross Creek) and Jefferson (vs. Peach County), both out of Region 8-3A, will be put to the test. The Dragons will be the second 8-3A to try and take down Peach County, who upset Class 3A overall No. 2 seed Cherokee Bluff on Wednesday in Flowery Branch.
Rabun County, the Region 8-A Division 1 champion and No. 2 seed in Class A D1, gets a pretty good BEST Academy team in Tiger and Union County, the No. 6 seed in Class 2A, is at home against Westside-Macon in Class 2A.
East Forsyth is on the road against Tucker in Class 4A while Banks County and Commerce in Class A D1 also will be on the road, The Leopards head to overall No. 1 seed Southwest-Macon and the Tigers will travel to No. 6 seed Putnam County.
