Former longtime Hall County Commission Clerk dies

GAINESVILLE - A woman who served as Clerk to the Hall County Board of Commissioners for nearly 30 years has died.

Sylvia Cooper, who lived in Chestnut Mountain, died Wednesday at the age of 85.

She served as Hall County Clerk of Commissioners from 1965 until she retired in 992. Cooper also served as a board member for Hall County Credit Union and served on the board of Hall County DFACS (Division of Family and Children Services).

The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 at Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church.
