BOWMAN — An Elbert County woman was the victim of a holiday weekend crash, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The GSP office in Atlanta said the fatal crash occurred around 3:05 p.m. Saturday, September 5, on GA 172 near Bowman.
A vehicle driven by 44-year-old Stephan Maldonado-Morales was traveling east on GA 172 when it left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and then vaulted as it re-entered the roadway. Troopers said Maldonado-Morales was ejected from her vehicle as it overturned on its top.
Troopers believe alcohol or drug use contributed to the crash.
