One person was killed and two others hospitalized in a one vehicle accident in Lumpkin County late Saturday afternoon.
Georgia State Patrol Spokesperson Tracey Watson said the accident occurred around 5:50 pm on Camp Wahsega Road. Preliminary indications are that a white Toyota Scion with three occupants was traveling northbound when the driver lost control in a curve. The car traveled off the east side of the road, rotated clockwise and struck a tree at the rear of the vehicle.
A passenger in the front was pronounced dead at the scene. The backseat passenger was airlifted to Grady Hospital, while the driver was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Watson said charges are pending, with a follow up investigation underway. The occupants’ names were not immediately available.
