AUBURN — The husband of a woman who operated a day care center in Barrow County has been sentenced to life in prison for molesting some of the children under his wife's care.
The Barrow County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that Richard Paltrineri, 64, of Auburn, entered guilty pleas to 27 total felony charges earlier this week. Among the charges that had been levied against Paltrineri - child molestation, cruelty to children in the first degree, aggravated sodomy and aggravated child molestation.
Authorities said they found at least seven juvenile victims during the course of their investigation. The victims ranged in age from two to 13, and investigators said both boys and girls were victimized.
Paltrineri, who was arrested on March 20, 2015, was the husband of Susan Paltrineri, the operator of SusanSilly Expressions Pre-School, a state-licensed home day care facility at 1442 Elliot’s Lane in Auburn. Investigators said Susan Paltrineri was not implicated in the crimes.
Paltrineri received a life sentence for his guilty plea with 50 years to serve behind bars without the possibility of parole.
The business's license was revoked, and there was no appeal filed against that decision according to an email from Reg Griffin with Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.
