GAINESVILLE — After spending more than two years on renovations, Gainesville-based Homestar Financial Corporation this week cut the ribbon on its new headquarters building in the old Gym of '36 off the downtown Gainesville square.
The official ribbon-cutting took place Monday, January 4 at 4:30 p.m. and attracted local business and political leaders, along with family and friends of Homestar President and CEO Wes Hunt.
The Gym of '36 building, located at 332 Washington Street, originally housed the gymnasium for Gainesville High School decades ago.
The corporate offices of Homestar now occupy the three-story brick building. Homestar also has an additional corporate facility in Flowery Branch. The company has 77 branches in 20 states, according to company officials.
