OAKWOOD — The Johnson boys soccer team picked up a 1-0 victory in the "Battle of Oakwood" on Wednesday, edging out rival West Hall.
Fabian Abarca bagged the lone goal of the night for the Knights (2-0), currently ranked No. 2 in Class AAAA.
Gerardo Molina also made three saves to preserve the shutout.
The Spartans (1-1), currently ranked No. 1 in Class AAA, will look to bounce back on Friday at North Hall.
Johnson travels to face Eastside on Friday.
