Smith-Bell Petroleum is now offering AutoGas (also known as propane) at its Pacific Pride location on Monroe Drive in Gainesville.
Pacific Pride is an unattended commercial fueling site, designed to significantly lower the cost and time spent fueling for companies with fleets. Smith-Bell Petroleum opened the Pacific Pride franchise in 1998. Originally located on Jesse Jewell Parkway, the business moved to Monroe Drive in 2002.
“It has always been our goal to maintain excellent service for our customers. One way of doing so has been to anticipate our customer’s needs before they arise. It was this notion that led us in the direction of AutoGas,” according to Jay Fulenwider, Pacific Pride Marketing Director.
Smith-Bell has partnered with AmeriGas to offer the fueling station. This will be the only location in Gainesville where the general public is able to go to purchase AutoGas. In addition, it is the first location in the state offering an unattended fueling location for AutoGas.
“AutoGas is growing in popularity as the fuel of choice for school buses, delivery fleets and government municipalities. Fueling with AutoGas, is as safe and simple as filling up with Gasoline or diesel,” according to Charles Sims, a 36 year AmeriGas employee. “AutoGas prices are historically lower than gasoline in addition to the lower harmful emissions.”
"Having a reliable propane and AutoGas station in a key city like Gainesville can be a game changer," said state Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols. "I applaud Smith Bell for their leadership."
Smith-Bell is hosting a ribbon-cutting and reception at the Monroe Drive facility Thursday, April 21, at 10:00.
