By AccessWDUN Staff

Authorities have released more information in a two-vehicle crash that killed three people and injured four others early Saturday morning in southeast Hall County.

Corporal Nicklaus Jenkins with the Georgia State patrol said Sunday morning that said five of the seven people involved in the accident, including all three fatalities, were juveniles.

Jenkins, who noted the identities of the juvenile victims would not be released, said that the wreck claimed the lives of "one 16-year-old male passenger, one 9-year-old female passenger and one 4 year-old-male passenger."

Two of the remaining victims have been released from the hospital, while the other two victims remain hospitalized in stable condition.

According to Jenkins, the accident happened just before 9:00 on Georgia 332, or Belmont Road, at Talmo Road in Talmo. He said a Ford Explorer was at a stop sign attempting to turn left onto Belmont Road when it started into the road and was hit in the driver's side by an oncoming Ford pickup truck and eventually rolled down an embankment.

Three people, all of whom were passengers in the Ford Explorer, were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third was taken by life flight to Scottish Rite of Atlanta. The other three people involved were also injured and were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.

Both roads were shut down for several hours while crews worked the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident, with Jenkins noting that, at this time, no charges have been filed.
