McCord joins Kimbrough law firm

Emily McCord has joined the Kimbrough Law Firm as Elder Care Coordinator, Kim Kimbrough announced Monday. McCord will be based in the firm’s Gainesville office.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist trained in a medical school, McCord brings a family systems perspective to her work as an Elder Care Coordinator. McCord’s duties include client counseling, advocacy, education and individualized coordination of services designed to improve client quality of life.

Before joining the Kimbrough Law Firm, McCord spent three years as an Elder Care Coordinator at Elder Law Practice of Timothy L. Takacs in Hendersonville, Tennessee. She also worked as a family counselor and spent three years as a Transitions Counselor at the Center for Palliative Care and Transitions at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

McCord earned a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA and a Bachelor’s degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia. 

“We are delighted to welcome Emily to the team,” said Kim Kimbrough, founder of the Kimbrough Law Firm, which has had a presence in Athens for four years and has been operating in Gainesville since April 2016.

The Kimbrough Law Firm is an elder law and estate planning firm, which serves clients throughout North Georgia from offices in Athens and Gainesville.
