Hall County Democrats will hold elections for seats on the governing Committee June 11 at the Gainesville Civic Center.
Registration to vote/run in the elections begins when the doors open at 6 p.m. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and registration closes at 6:40 p.m. Arrivals after that time will be admitted to observe only. The affidavits required for registration can be obtained and filled out prior to the June 11 meeting.
Elections will be held for nine of the 17 Committee seats, two in each of County Commission Districts 1, 2, and 3, and one in District 4. Two At-Large seats will be up for election.
Candidates and electors must live in and be registered to vote in Hall County. Candidates for the district seats must live in and be registered to vote in those County Commission districts.
“We’re looking for real Democrats committed to supporting and electing Democratic candidates and who recognize that the local Democratic Committee is a unit of the Democratic Party of Georgia,” said Kim Copeland, chairman of the Hall County Democratic Committee.
He said that he would talk with anyone interested in being a committee member.
