A GBI agent whose career includes assignments in northeast Georgia has been named Special Agent in Charge of the GBI's Office of Privacy and Compliance.
In his new job, Brad Parks will be responsible for the supervision of the staff assigned to the unit and will oversee the administration of open records documentation, accreditation activities, and daily operations of the office.
Parks began his law enforcement career with the GBI in 1992, assigned to the Perry Regional Field Office. Since then, he has served in a number of capacities with the agency, including stints as Commander of the Cleveland-based Appalachian Drug Task Force and Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the GBI's Cleveland Field Office.
Parks received the GBI Award for Valor and the Governor’s Public Safety Award for Heroism in 2001, as a member of the GBI’s Special Operations Unit Special Response Team. He has served as a Bomb Disposal Technician for the GBI since 2002.
