UPDATE: Soccer: West Hall boys beat EH; Lady Vikings beat WHall for first time ever; Lakeview girls open with win

RABBITTOWN – West Hall knocked off Class 3A's No. 2-ranked East Hall Vikings 5-2 Wednesday night at East Hall Stadium.

Sergio Garcia and Maury Ibarra scored one goal each on penalty kicks for the Vikings (1-1-1). Daniel Carrillo had 5 saves in goal on the night and Steven Quintanilla had one save in goal for East Hall.
 
On the girl's side, the Lady Vikings beat West Hall for the first time in school history 3-2 Wednesday night. 

The perfect start also is a first for the Lady Vikings.

Rosa Montes scored one goal and had one assist and Carolina Sesmas scored two goals in the win for the Lady Vikings. Yecenia Santana and Makelvia Holder each had on assist and Kaia Rice had 7 saves in goal.
 
East Hall will play host to Lakeview Academy next Wednesday. The girls will kick at 5 p.m. followed with the boys game at 7 p.m.

 

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 6,
CHEROKEE BLUFF 2

The Lady Lions opened their season with a win on the road Wednesday.

Freshman Millie Filson scored her first two varsity goals and had two assists to lead Lakeview (1-0). Freshmen Sara Nivens, Isabella Rojas-Alban, and Lauren Scott also scored their first varsity goals for Lakeview. Sophomore Hannah Perkins netted one as well. Ella Grace Leek recorded 2 assists.

The defense was led by Virginia Cobb and Abigail Child while keeper Celia Wilson-Patino recorded 3 saves for Lakeview.

Freshman Jazmine Alvarez scored both goals for Cherokee Bluff (0-2).

Cherokee Bluff will travel to Chestatee on Friday while Lakeview is off until traveling to East Hall next Wednesday.
