With the Georgia High School Association basketball tournament entering the final two weeks, several area teams continue their march to Macon.

On Tuesday, the Buford Lady Wolves (29-2) will play in their 13th-straight state quarterfinal and since 2009, Buford has won six state titles and the last two Class 5A trophies.

Buford coach Gene Durden has built the Buford program on stingy defense and playing full throttle from the moment his players step on the court.

His philosophy has taken the Lady Wolves to the top again this season. The defending Class 5A champs have won have won 9 straight games, including the Region 8-5A title. Their last loss was to Class 7A No. 1-ranked Westlake and they beat Class A powerhouses Holy Innocents and Wesleyan.

The AccessSports Weekly crew had a chance to catch up with Durden to talk about the Lady Wolves' success during his 14 years at the helm of the program.
