Girls soccer: Lakeview routs Stephens; Dawson takes down Chestatee; Buford beats Johnson

GAINESVILLE – Freshman Millie Filson scored five goals to lead the Lakeview girls soccer team past Stephens County, 11-1, Tuesday night.

Freshman Sara Nivens turned in a hat trick performance with three goals.  Freshman Lauren Scott scored 2 goals and sophomore Hannah Perkins scored off a 45-yard free kick.  

Freshman goalkeeper Celia Wilson-Patino had six saves in goal.   

The Lady Lions (3-2) will travel to Athens Christian on Friday for their first Region 8-A battle. Game time is 5 p.m.


DAWSON COUNTY 4
CHESTATEE 1

Molly Muenchen scored two goals to lead the Lady Tigers past Chestatee Tuesday night on the road. 

Maggie Wright and Rachel Rajczak scored one goal each in the win.

Chestatee's Kyleigh Drew scored the War Eagles' lone goal in the 70th minute off a Kristy Guardiola assist.

The Lady War Eagles (2-4-1) will host Blessed Trinity Friday in a Region 7-4A match. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Tigers (5-1) will begin Region 7-3A play when they travel to Lumpkin County Friday at 5:30 p.m.

 

BUFORD 5
JOHNSON 1

Jenna DeGroot scored Johnson's only goal off an assist by Maria Rivera in the Region 8-5A loss to Buford at home.

Johnson (2-4) will host Paulding County Friday at 5:20 p.m.

Buford (5-1-2) will travel to Wesleyan Friday at 5:30 p.m.
