For many people, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, will be quite the average, normal day. However, for one local family, it will be a day they will likely never forget.
This is the day Yolanda Graham's dream of owning a new, safe, and affordable Habitat home will come true, made possible by the generous support of The Norton Agency and Epiq, according to Habitat for Humanity of Hall County.
Graham began her journey to homeownership in November of 2015. With support from her Free Chapel church members, she exceeded the 260-hour sweat equity requirement, all while balancing working as a paraprofessional and being a single mother of two. In addition to sweat equity, Habitat homeowners are required to take a homeowner financial education course, which Graham successfully completed, according to Habitat officials.
“It’s a wonderful day when we get to witness our homeowner’s success. After seeing them through the arduous process, the end product is pure joy. A family standing on their own feet, on a solid foundation, can achieve anything. We’re honored to offer them a hand-up,” said Alison McElvery, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Hall County.
The Graham home will be dedicated April 17 at 1:30 at 3809 Fawn Court located in Copper Glen, a dedicated Habitat subdivision.
