Good News Clinics will host its annual fundraising dinner on Saturday, at 6 p.m. at Lanier Technical College’s Ramsey Conference Center.
This year’s Mardi Gras Celebration will honor Doug and Sandy Carter as the “King and Queen of the Carnival,” recognizing their outstanding contribution to the wellbeing of the Gainesville community, according to a press release from Good News Clinics.
The fundraiser will include dinner, a cocktail party, live auction and presentation of the Sam Poole and Anne Warren Thomas Awards.
“We are thrilled to be back in person at our normal time of year to honor the amazing work that Good News Clinics does day in and day out,” said Liz Coates, Executive Director of Good News Clinics in a press release.
Coates said that that they are proud to share all that the Clinics have been able to accomplish thanks to the community.
Good News Clinics completed over 13,000 patient appointments in the Sam Poole Medical Clinic and almost 4,000 patient appointments in the Green Warren Dental Clinic in 2021. All that added up to $3.1 Million in estimated savings that Good News Clinics provided to the healthcare system this year in treatment of chronic conditions.
All funding for services comes from grants, donations, and fundraising efforts through their major events, including the Mardi Gras fundraising dinner.
