Gainesville man jailed after injury crash on Browns Bridge Road

A Gainesville man is facing a list of charges including DUI following a wreck that seriously injured a woman early Saturday morning.

Hall County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer B.J. Williams said the crash happened on Browns Bridge Road near Holland Drive just after midnight when Harry Gerald Rotter III, age 21, was trying to overtake a vehicle that was slowing down and trying to turn left onto Holland Drive.

The driver of the vehicle Rotter hit reportedly suffered a broken collarbone. She has been identified as a 51-year-old woman, but her name has not been released.

Rotter was arrested at the scene and taken to the Hall County Jail on a list of charges including DUI and serious injury by vehicle. As of Monday morning, he remained in the jail on just over $7,000 bond.

Browns Bridge Road was shut down for around two hours as crews worked the crash scene.
