If a battle between two communities is meant to have a positive outcome, than the second annual, "Community Food Fight" between Suwanee and Sugar Hill officials was a truly success testament to such an effort.
Suwanee has emerged victorious in this year's “Community Food Fight” against Sugar Hill, according to a release from Suwanee's Commnications and Markleting department, but the true winners are the residents of Northern Gwinnett County that benefit from both cities' collective effort to gather items and donations for the project.
Suwanee's officials say that thanks to the incredible support from their community, Suwanee collected 14,025 pounds of food and $2,195 in donations, helping the North Gwinnett Co-Op continue their essential work. Overall, Suwanee and Sugar Hill’s efforts raised an impressive 17,139 pounds of food and $3,680 in support, demonstrating the power of community solidarity.
Sugar Hill's officials also thank the community for helping to collect the items during the month-long effort from local residents and community groups behind the project.
