The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating several acts of vandalism that occurred in downtown Buford early Tuesday morning.

Two suspects in the case were seen in surveillance footage just after 12 a.m. walking to a dumpster at East Main St. and South Harris St. and spray-painting what authorities described as  “racist language and hate speech” on the doors of the dumpster and on its right side. The vandalism was visible to those driving along the road later that morning.

The suspects also allegedly spray painted a nearby street sign and a business at 50 East Main St.

The two eventually left in the direction of the train tracks behind the dumpster they initially vandalized.

The department described one suspect as a heavy set male, wearing yellow shorts with squares on them, black slides with a shirt wrapped around his head with a white face covering. The second suspect is described as a tall, slender individual wearing a gray sweatshirt, a mask, shorts and white Crocs with half calf socks.
