Buford-area elementary school gets new principal

The Gwinnett County Board of Education approved the appointment for a new principal at a Buford-area elementary school.

Terica E. Peek was named the new principal of Ivy Creek Elementary School at a Thursday board meeting. 

Peek is the current assistant principal and will replace Melanie Terris, who is retiring.

Before becoming the assistant principal at Ivy Creek in 2022, Peek was the assistant principal at Lawrenceville Elementary from 2018 to 2022. She has also been a teacher at Gwin Oaks Elementary from 2014 to 2018 and in Walton County Public Schools from 2005 to 2014.

She got her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern and her master’s degree from the University of Georgia.
