The Georgia House of Representatives Committee on Assignments has reappointed State Representative Matt Dubnik of Gainesville as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education.
“The single largest line item in Georgia’s budget is PreK – 12 education,” Dubnik said. “The next generation of learners are relying on us to continue to fund education at the highest possible level. I’m honored to continue my service as chair of the Appropriations Education Subcommittee and look forward to providing a gateway to success for the 1.8 million school children in Georgia. Providing them with a high-quality education, safe and reliable transportation to and from school, funding nutritious meals, keeping them safe, exposing them to cutting-edge technology in the classroom and taking care of our teachers will remain my priorities.”
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education helps draft budgets, focusing on funding for Pre-K and K-12 education.
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns of Newington, is responsible for making all committee assignments for members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
