A Gainesville man was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 29 after a male victim claimed he was shot at a gas station in unincorporated Suwanee.
The Gwinnett County Police Department said officers responded to the scene at 2090 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road where they found the victim with a head wound.
The victim told officers that an unknown male shot him and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, officers collected video of the incident and learned that the victim was not shot but struck in the head with a firearm which caused it to discharge.
The situation reportedly occurred after the two men shoulder-checked each other inside the gas station.
Detectives identified the suspect as Isaac Hernandez, 30, of Gainesville.
With help from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Hernandez was arrested in Gainesville without incident.
He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail and charged with aggravated assault, battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
