Hall County Sheriff's investigators have arrested a Jefferson man on Wednesday on several charges stemming from an October 2024 crash with serious injuries involved.
Sheriff's Office Spokesperson B.J. Williams says they arrested 61-year old Bobby Kenneth Nix on Wednesay on DUI of drugs, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and drug related objects, as well as charges for failing to maintain lane as the result of a crash on October 30, 2024 at around 11 a.m. on Belmont Highway near Candler Road. Nix was the sole occupant of a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu which struck a tree after the vehicle traveled off the southbound lane of the roadway, leaving him with serious injuries.
Williams says Nix was transported to a local hospital for treatment to the injuries as investigators reportedly uncovered the 43 grams of meth, less than one ounce of marijuana and drug related objects from the crash scene. Nix was not immediately arrested while in the hospital for treatment but was formally charged.
Willams says Nix was then arrested on Wednesday by Hall County investigators at the Jackson County Detention Ceter. He is currently held without bond at the Hall County Jail on the felony charge of memamphetamine possession with intent to distribute.
