Region champions Buford and Habersham Central lead a small contingent into the second round on Tuesday in the Georgia High School Assocaition girls soccer playoffs.
Buford is one of three Region 8-6A teams to advance out of the first round and will take on a solid Cherokee squad (12-2) that was part of three Region 5-6A teams to advance. The Lady Wolves (18-0) are well-rested after needing just one half to dispatch Westlake last week in a 10-0 rout.
Region 8-5A champion Habersham Central (13-2) has allowed just 11 goals all season and will play host to Kennesaw Mountain (11-6) who is averaging 3.5 goals/game on the season. Jackson County, also out of 8-5A, travels to Greenbrier.
And East Forsyth part of a Region 8-4A sweep in the first round and is one of two No.4 seeds (Druid Hills) that were able to take down region champs. The Lady Broncos (8-10) are 7-3 on the road in 2025.
