GAINESVILLE - The Tim Marchman era at East Hall got off to a good start Friday night.
The Vikings, however, had to come from behind against Chestatee to take a 13-9 Region 7-AAA win.
Despite the loss, Chestatee showed improvement against East Hall, a team it lost to 67-0 last year.
East Hall got on the board first when quarterback Lee Coleman connected with running back Keith McClary for a 38-yard touchdown. Chestatee blocked the extra point.
Chestatee tied it up in the third quarter on a 28-yard TD run by sophomore quarterback Chad Sage. But East Hall blocked the extra pointChested to keep it tied.
The War Eagles then took a 9-6 lead on their next possession on an 18-yard field goal.
But the Vikings took control of the game with 10 minutes left in the game when fullback Patrick O'Neal rumbled 23-yards to the War Eagles 2-yard line, setting up a 2-yard TD run by Jamie Evans.
Chestatee is off until Sept. 19th when it plays at johnson.
East Hall will play host to arch-rival Gainesville next week.
