Falcons, Vikings win in first round of Lanier tourney

GAINESVILLE - Day 2 of the Lanier Point Fast-Pitch Invitational Tournament gets under way Saturday at Lanier Point Park.<br> <br> Games are scheduled in three divisions, with the top two teams in each division advancing the elimination round later in the afternoon.<br> <br> Friday&#39;s action had Flowery Branch edged Habersham Central 1-0. The Falcons will play White County at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.<br> <br> Also in the first round, East Hall beat Gainesville 13-3. However, the Vikings later lost to Jackson County 14-0. East Hall is scheduled to play Buford at 12:30 Saturday.<br> <br> Admission will be $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students at the gate. For more information call the Lanier Point Softball Complex at (770) 287-0208.<br> <br> The RED POOL consists of West Hall, Forsyth Central, St. Pius, Dawson County and Lumpkin County.<br> <br> The BLUE POOL consists of Gainesville, Gilmer County, Buford, East Hall and Jackson County.<br> <br> The WHITE POOL has Union County, North Hall, White County, Habersham Central and Flowery Branch.
