More charges filed in Augusta jail gang case

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has filed new charges in what it describes as ongoing gang activity at a Georgia youth detention facility. <br /> <br /> Four prisoners now face charges of illegal gang activity for allegedly striking a fifth detainee in the face and head as part of a gang initiation at Augusta Youth Development Campus. <br /> <br /> Authorities say the victim, Kenneth Johnson, ended up unconscious. <br /> <br /> The Augusta Chronicle reported that new charges were filed this week against 20-year-old Andre Daniels and 17-year-old Markuise Powell. They were transferred to Richmond County Jail. <br /> <br /> Dronta Turner, who is 19, and Quintavis Robinson, who is 17, were initially charged in the case and transferred to the adult jail facility in May.
