Over the summer, Mamie Coker, BSN, RN was named Georgia’s 2017 School Nurse Administrator of the Year by the Georgia Association of School Nurses.
Coker received the award at the annual educational conference June 12, 2016 in Savannah, Georgia, according to a statement from the Hall County Board of Education.
Coker was recognized for her dedication to children’s health and advocating for the practice of school nursing and for the high quality standards for school health services. She has 33 years of nursing experience and has served for 23 years as the health systems coordinator for the Hall County School District. Coker supervises the 35 licensed nurses who work for the school district. In addition, she coordinates health-related services for special education, hospital homebound and the AED/CPR program for students in the district.
