Woman killed in East Hall hit-and-run

By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run that left a woman dead in east Hall County Saturday morning.

Patrol Corporal Spencer Munger said 41-year-old Brenda Kaye Turpin was walking east on the south shoulder of Gillsville Highway near Snare Road at around 7:45 a.m. when a car that was headed east on Gillsville Highway left its lane while handling a right curve.

The car then struck Turpin, sending her into a ditch on the side of the road. She died of her injuries.

The state patrol is investigating the incident, but has not identified the driver. Munger said they believe the vehicle was a silver Dodge Charger with right-front fender damage.
