The driver in a fatal car accident on Candler Highway Saturday afternoon was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the state patrol.
Troopers said in a press release the driver, who remains unidentified until next of kin is notified, was traveling south on Candler Highway around 1:45 p.m., half a mile south of Roy Parks Road, when he left the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, troopers said, and no charges will be filed in the wreck.
