A Gainesville man has been charged in a Monday afternoon accident involving a bicyclist.
Hall County Sheriff's Office officials said Steven Van Cao, 67, was arrested Tuesday, July 30 at a location on Arbor Chase Road.
Cao is believed to have been driving a vehicle that struck a bicyclist around 3 p.m. Monday on Poplar Springs Road near Gilleland Circle. The vehicle disappeared from the scene following the crash. The bicyclist was not seriously injured and refused medical treatment at the scene.
Cao is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, according to authorities. He was released from the Hall County Jail Wednesday morning, July 31, on $5,700 bond.
