Gas prices in the Gainesville area remain among the state's lowest

The Georgia gas price average has declined at the pump compared to a week ago.

Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.37 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

AAA's weekly release shows that Monday's state average is 2 cents less than a week ago, at $3.39 per gallon.

While drivers are paying more than a month ago by 15 cents per gallon, it now costs $50.55 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Drivers are now paying $5.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a year ago.

Gainesville area commuters are still paying less on average per-gallon in Georgia, at about $3.28 per gallon. 

The national average for unleaded gasoline remains steady from last week at $3.66 per gallon.
