White County Board of Commissioners are receiving that the Employee Safety Grant provided from the ACCG – Group Self Insurance Workers’ Compensation Fund for a fourth straight year.
The grant is targeted to foster safer working environments and provide supplies to keep employees safe. This year's grant for White County is in the amount of $5,954.
County Commissioners say they plan to use the grant toward first aid kits, reflective safety jacket, vehicle backup cameras, and rope supplies for Fire Service rescues.
White County Interim County Manager, Billy Pittard, commented in a press release on the grant received:
“We are excited to once again receive these grant funds and help create a safer environment for county employees.” Pittard continues, “We thank ACCG for allotting these funds to help further our mission to provide the safest working environment for our employees.”
ACCG is Georgia’s County Association that was formed in 1914 when county officials came together to help fund the state’s first highway department. ACCG works on behalf of county officials and their communities by providing public policy and legislative advocacy, leadership development, civic and community engagement initiatives, and insurance and retirement programs that specialize in local government needs.
