White County Sheriff's Office has its newest K9 deputy

A new addition has been formally welcomed to the White County Sheriff's Office recently.

A ceremony was held for the newest K9 deputy to recogize "Jelly" as the next dog officer.

K9 Deputy Jelly is a 1.5 year old Belgian Malinois, and has completed 160 hours of training with her new handler, Deputy Lathem.

While it has not been confirmed if the tandem will be known as "Peanut Butter and Jelly", Sheriff Kelley was quoted on their social media platforms as hinting that Deputy Lathem will now be referred to with a nickname of, "Peanut Butter".
