By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

A Dawsonville man has been arrested on charges related to the death of a City of Cumming employee earlier this month.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that Kevin Turner, age 43, turned himself into the Forsyth County Jail on Monday, March 17 on charges of second-degree homicide by vehicle.

The charges stem from an incident on March 10 in the parking lot of a Cumming city water facility. City employee Crystal Sawyer, age 44, was reportedly struck by a vehicle and later pronounced dead from her injuries.

Cumming city officials also confirmed Thursday that Turner himself is also a city employee.

Turner has since been released from the Forsyth County Jail on just over $4,400 bond.
