Personnel from the Cornelia, Demorest and Baldwin Fire Departments, along with Habersham County EMS and Cornelia Police Departments, responded to fire reported on Hood Street on Monday.
The call came in around 1 p.m. and once crews arrived they found smoke coming from three sides of the house. Once they made entry, they found the fire was contained to one area and had self-extinguished, leaving only scorch marks on one interior wall.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. No injuries were reported.
