DULUTH - A little boy was killed in a one-vehicle crash on I-85 at Boggs Road Wednesday afternoon when his father veered off the highway and into an exit sign.<br />

Gwinnett County police investigators said Juan C. Velasquez-Dominguez, 33, of Norcross, was traveling southbound on the I-85 connector/distributor around 3:50 p.m when his vehicle careened off the interstate and hit the concrete base for the I-85/Boggs Road exit sign.<br />
<br />
As a result of the crash, Juan Velazquez, 7, the son of the driver, was critically injured; he died later at Gwinnett Medical Center. Investigators said the boy was unrestrained in the vehicle. <br />
<br />
Another child, Sophia Ramos, age 5, also was unrestrained in the vehicle. She suffered non life-threatening injuries.<br />
<br />
The other occupants of the vehicle, 10-year-old Nelson Tucas Belloso and <br />
35-year-old Sara Ramos-Martin, also were injured, according to investigators. Belloso, Ramos-Martin and Velasquez-Dominguez were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.<br />
<br />
Investigators said Velasquez-Dominguez remains hospitalized. He faces charges of<br />
vehicular homicide 2nd degree, no drivers license, improper lane change/failed to maintain lane, safety restraint/child and reckless conduct.<br />
