Habersham and White counties have announced school closings for tomorrow due to widespread power outages in Northeast Georgia.
White County schools will be closed and Habersham County will be closed Monday for students and staff. Earlier Sunday afternoon, Habersham EMC announced that almost 14,000 customers were without power, while Georgia Power announced Sunday night that around 700 of their members were also without power.
The Little School in Clarkesville will hold school Monday, however students late or absent to class will excused.
The outages came after a large storm system connected to Hurricane Joaquin hit Georgia and the Carolinas with two straight days of rain and wind.
