Atlanta mayor's car booted for illegal parking

ATLANTA (AP) A private parking company booted the SUV of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed because it was illegally parked on a sidewalk.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the GMC Denali was booted Thursday while the mayor was at lunch.

City spokeswoman Anne Torres said members of the mayor's security team parked the vehicle illegally. A private parking enforcement company put the restraints on the wheels.

No ticket was issued since the SUV is a police vehicle.
