Gov. Brian Kemp has planned a visit to the only mass COVID vaccination site in Northeast Georgia.
Officials with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency announced this morning that Kemp will be at the Habersham County Fairgrounds on Monday, March 8 for a facility tour and a press conference.
The Clarkesville site was one of four mass vaccination locations that opened on February 22 in an effort to vaccinate more Georgians against the virus. The first week, health officials administered 5,537 vaccines at the Clarkesville location, which was the second highest amount administered.
On Wednesday, GEMA announced the opening of five additional mass vaccine sites, but the Clarkesville site remains the only one open in the Northeast Georgia region.
AccessWDUN will have a reporter on scene Monday and will have an update on Gov. Kemp's comments.
