LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County police have arrested a Buford man in connection with the severe beating of a young girl, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.<br />

The newspaper report indicated the child sustained injuries to most of her body, including a broken collarbone and several cracked ribs.<br />

The suspect, who was arrested Sunday, has been identified as 20-year-old Jalaska J. Earls. The child's mother Gloria Nesha Stringer, 22, of Flowery Branch was charged with child cruelty for failing to get medical attention for her daughter.<br />
<br />
Gwinnett County police are expected to release more details in the case.<br />
